 Healthy Food Certification

 

 

 

School Breakfast

  • All public schools in Connecticut, and private nonprofit schools and residential child-care institutions may participate in the National School Breakfast Program.  USDA regulations similar to the lunch program apply, and federal and state reimbursements are available.  Some school districts that currently offer breakfast programs are Hartford, West Hartford, Branford, Bridgeport, Meriden, Bloomfield, New London, South Windsor, Stamford, Waterbury, New Britain.

 

 

 

 

After School Snacks

 

  • This program provides nutritious snacks to children enrolled in educational or enrichment programs offered after the regular school day. There are meal pattern requirements and accountability policies that apply. Organizations that may participate include: public and private nonprofit schools and organizations in areas of high economic need that offer after-school programs. Some school districts that currently offer After School Snack programs are Ansonia, Bridgeport, Hartford, Meriden, Plainville, Bristol
